Patsy Dumas

Patsy Dumas has served as a local community banker for 51 years. Starting as a file clerk in the back room of the former F&M State Bank, she moved through the ranks of bookkeeping and the proof department, to head teller and on to lending secretary. She later became a loan officer and eventually the President of the Burleson Branch at the former First State Bank of Rio Vista. Dumas joined First National Bank of Burleson in 1999 as Vice President providing personal and business loans. In 2008, she was elected to the Board of Directors. Later in 2013, Dumas was promoted to Senior Vice President. As Senior Vice President, Dumas is a personal and commercial lender and remains active in the Burleson community.  Dumas and her husband Billy have lived in Burleson for 59 years. Serving on the board for United Cooperative Services since 1990 and taking on the roles of Secretary and Treasurer, she is the President of the Board. She is also serving her fourth year on the board of the Texas Electric Cooperatives and has served as Treasurer the last three years. Dumas is an active member and former Chairman of the Burleson Area Chamber of Commerce on two separate occasions. She has received many local and national awards including national recognition in Washington, D.C. for recruiting the most Chamber members in 1989 for a city the size of Burleson. Most recently, Patsy was voted “Best Banker” and “Best Loan Officer” while First National Bank of Burleson was voted “Best Bank” by Burleson Star Newspaper readers for 2016. Also in 2016, she was awarded with the prestigious “Pillar of the Community” of Burleson award presented by Hill College. This award is presented to outstanding individuals who are essential to the life of their communities through their hard work, involvement and influence. She was honored by the mayor and city council of Burleson with the city’s 2015 Citizen’s Excellence in Community Involvement Award.  She was honored in 2015 by the Texas Bankers Association as a 50 year community banker. As a result, State Representative DeWayne Burns, presented Dumas with a proclamation and flag flown over the Texas State Capitol. Dumas holds the Burleson Citizen of the Year title from 1990 and was the first recipient of the prestigious ATHENA Award in 1992. A member of the Burleson Rotary Club since 1993, she was honored as the 2003 Rotarian of the year, received the Paul Harris Fellow recognition in 2004 and was the first person from the Burleson Rotary Club to win the Rotary Builder award in 2007. She was also honored by the Burleson Character Council in October of 2007 with the coveted Byron Black Character Award.  In the past, she has also served as Vice President of Keep Burleson Beautiful and was a committee member for the Texas Health Huguley Hospital Crystal Heart Gala. Dumas currently serves on the board of the newly-formed Burleson Police Foundation, as a member and past president of the ATHENA Society of Burleson and is a board member for the Burleson Opportunity Fund. In addition to being a charter member in the Chisholm Trail 100 Club, she is also a charter member of the Burleson City of Character Council. Dumas feels honored to be able to work, serve and play in a community she loves.
