The Burleson Police Foundation recognized several members of the Burleson Police Department at the December Board meeting for acts that represent “Beyond Service”. Employees recognized at the meeting were provided a Foundation coin.
Pictured above are Officers Tiffany Bauereisen, Andrew Prieskorn, and Whitney Meredith. Not pictured is Officer Brandon Rousseau. These officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance where a lady was assaulted by her daughter. The victim contacted the Burleson Police Department to commend these officers for their compassion in how they treated her during this difficult time. She felt these officers went above and beyond what her expectation was and wanted to ensure BPD knew how much she appreciated their service.
Burleson Police Officer Ron Martin, pictured above was dispatched to a welfare check. Upon arrival, he was met by a distraught gentleman that explained his wife was missing and feared for her safety. The gentleman explained her purse and vehicle were still home and she was not answering her phone, representing very unusual behavior. Officer Martin initiated a thorough search of the home and located his wife trapped under several items in a closet. She was understandably upset and crying but not injured.
Alex Schneider, pictured above is the Crime Analyst for the Burleson Police Department. She was requested to make a presentation to a criminal justice class in Richardson. The professor later forwarded a letter to BPD, informing them that Alex did an outstanding job of presenting to the students. Furthermore, he said Alex was the preferred guest speaker for the semester as voted on by the students! Thanks Alex for going “Beyond Service”.
Not pictured is Burleson Police Telecommunications Specialist Sabrina Rivera. Chief Cordell received a letter from a man that lives in Tennessee praising the efforts of one of the Communications team members who went beyond his expectations. He called BPD attempting to locate a relative of a deceased person and Sabrina answered the call. Sabrina checked databases and located an address of this relative but they lived outside of Burleson. The man said he was surprised he wasn’t transferred to another police department and was very impressed that Ms. Rivera continued to help in notifying the relative. Sabrina will be recognized with a Beyond Service challenge coin.
